From 3D render to built environment — in our shop, by our team.

Our in-house fabrication shop builds the scenic, stages, props, and branded environments that our designers design and our production team delivers — so nothing gets lost in translation, and nothing gets subcontracted to strangers.

The render you approve is the event you get

Most event companies show you a render and then cross their fingers that a subcontractor somewhere builds it close enough. We show you the render, build it in our own shop, load it into the venue with our own crew, and integrate it with our own lighting, audio, and video. Every step happens under the same roof, overseen by the same team. The event you see is the event we designed — not a downgraded version that survived three vendor handoffs.

Inside the Extraordinary fabrication shop

Our fabrication facility in Gaithersburg, MD, is a working carpentry, scenic, and custom build shop staffed by full-time carpenters, scenic artists, and build leads. It’s where renders become real — stages, sets, branded walls, custom furniture, signage, props, and everything in between.

What we build

Scenic & Stage Sets

Custom stages, backdrops, set pieces, and architectural scenic elements built to render-accurate specs. From black-box conference stages to immersive gala environments.

Branded Environments & Activations

Custom walls, entrances, photo moments, activation spaces, pop-ups, brand houses, and trade show booths. Your logo done right, at full scale, with finishes that match your brand standards.

Props & Custom Builds

One-off pieces that make an event unforgettable — custom sculptures, centerpieces, interactive elements, experiential props. If it can be designed, we can build it.

Signage & Wayfinding

Event signage, directional graphics, stage graphics, and branded print — designed in-house, produced in-house, installed by our team.

Why it matters that we own the shop

Fabrication is the part of event production where most mistakes happen and where most subcontractors quietly take shortcuts. A built scenic element that’s a half-inch off spec, or finished in the wrong paint sheen, or delivered 48 hours late, can unravel an event’s entire look — and by the time you notice, the event is already happening.

When we build everything in-house, four things change:

  1. Quality is our name on the work. Our designers and our builders work for the same company. There’s no “the subcontractor missed it.”
  2. Timelines are realistic. We build and ship on our own schedule, not a vendor’s queue.
  3. Revisions are fast. A change request on Wednesday can be built by Friday.
  4. The build integrates with production. Our fabricators know how our riggers work, how our lighting team plans, how our AV team loads in. Everything designed to work together.

Build is the bridge between design and production

The real reason our fabrication shop matters isn’t that we save you money on scenic (though we often do). It’s that our shop sits physically between our design team and our production team. That means when the scenic is being built, our riggers are already planning how to hang it, our lighting designers are already speccing fixtures to light it, our AV team is already running cable paths through it. The build isn’t a standalone deliverable — it’s a connected step in an integrated production.

That integration is impossible to replicate with subcontractors. It’s the reason Fortune 500 brands hire us for events they can’t afford to compromise on.

Where this matters most: brand activations.

A corporate conference has a venue that does most of the heavy lifting. A gala has a ballroom and a stage. A brand activation usually starts with an empty floor, a tent, a parking lot, or a buildout shell — and you build everything that fills it. Every wall, every finish, every cable run, every branded touchpoint comes from us. The shop is the whole project. It’s the work our setup was built for, which is why activation-heavy brands like Spotify, Pepsi, Google, and Bloomingdale’s keep us on the call list.

Have a render? Bring it. Need one? We'll draw it.

Whether you’re coming to us with a designed vision that needs to get built, or starting from a brief that needs design and fabrication together — we’re built for either.
